A bad morning

This morning was so stupidly annoying and frustrating that I couldn't wait for it to get over... But before I start rambling about this morning... let me take you back to Saturday, because a small incident from that day was responsible for much of what happened today...

On Saturday, I took my team at work out for lunch... while crossing the road, I lost my footing and ended up saving myself by using my fist to stabilize myself... why did I use my fist? Well, let me put it this way, I couldn't use my palm as it was wrapped around my phone... so basically, to cut a long story short, I bruised my knuckle over my little finger... the wound was duly washed and a band-aid applied in all urgency...

Fast forward to this morning... on Tuesday... I woke up and realized that there was a huge bubble over the wound... obviously there was some fluid in there... I kept looking at it in disgust... and so began my really bad morning... I had loads of work to do at work... but I could not get ready as the wound was swelling and hurting whenever I would try and close my hand...

Since the entire Familia was out of town I had no way of getting anyone else's help and I knew that I was on my own...

So here was the plan of action...

  1. Call up Work and delegate
  2. Then go to the hospital, get the bubble burst and dressed
  3. Come back home
  4. get ready for work
  5. Go to work
and this is what happened!!!
  1. Called up work, and realized that:
    • The work that was supposed to be completed last night was never completed
    • The training could not start on time because of that
    • There was an additional requirement of more power connections
    • So in response, to the above points I quickly called up the right people, did a lot of Hindi, and prayed to god that better sense prevails and I do not lose my job over this
  2. Got ready for the hospital and stepped out of the house with the wallet and phone and locked the door only to realize that I have forgotten the home and car keys inside
  3. Walked to the hospital, got the bubble burst, waited for it dry out a bit, got it dressed
  4. Then I walked to the market to look for a Key Maker
  5. Located the Key Maker who obviously had attitude issues, and constantly kept on bugging me about how he makes an honest living and how he isn't sure that I live in the house I was getting unlocked
  6. Brought him home
  7. Got the door unlocked
  8. Took almost an hour and a half to get ready, because tying a turban with a bandaged hand is quite a task
  9. Left for work
But the morning wasn't all bad... I at least had some amazing Seviyan (Vermicelli) for breakfast that my friend had made for me last night... aah the little pleasures of life... things that just make having friend's worthwhile (even though your body odour may disgust them) :P
